Central States 2027 Spotlight State: Michigan

To our friends in Michigan,

One of the most rewarding parts of any numismatic convention is the opportunity to learn from fellow collectors. Exhibits allow us to share the stories behind our collections, showcase research, and inspire others to explore new areas of the hobby.

In recent years, Central States has reimagined our exhibit program as part of our annual State Showcase. Rather than focusing on competition, we have sought to create an exhibit area that is welcoming, educational, and enjoyable for collectors of all experience levels.

Whether you are a seasoned exhibitor or have never built an exhibit before, we encourage you to consider sharing your collection with fellow attendees. You don’t need an award-winning display or decades of exhibiting experience. If you have a Michigan themed collecting interest, a Michigan numismatic story to tell, or a passion for the history and culture of numismatics in Michigan, you have something worth sharing and we want to give you the opportunity to do so.

Every exhibit adds to the convention experience. A single display can spark a conversation, teach a new collector something unexpected, or inspire someone to begin a new collecting journey. Those connections are what make our hobby special.

As we prepare for the 2027 convention, we invite you to help us bring the exhibit area to life. Consider building a Michigan themed exhibit, share your knowledge, and become part of the story we can tell together.

Collections are meant to be enjoyed, but exhibits allow them to educate, inspire, and connect us with one another. Please consider sharing a piece of your collecting journey with your fellow hobbyists at Central States.

The success of the State Showcase depends not on a handful of exhibitors, but on the many collectors willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Whether your exhibit fills a single case or several, your contribution helps tell the story of Michigan and enriches the convention experience for everyone who attends.

Every collection has a story. Exhibits are simply a wonderful way to tell it. Please visit our website for rules or contact our Exhibit Chairman Jack Huggins and let him know of your interest at ihuggins@csns.org .
