About MSNS
Privacy Policy
The Michigan State Numismatic Society is a volunteer-run, nonprofit hobby organization. We collect only what we need to run the Society, our conventions and this website, and we never sell your information.
Effective October 7, 2026
The short version
- You can browse this site without giving us any personal information.
- When you contact us, apply for a dealer table or join MSNS, we use what you send only for that purpose.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not run advertising.
- You can ask us to update or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
This website, michigancoinclub.org, is run by the Michigan State Numismatic Society (MSNS), a nonprofit organization serving collectors of coins, medals, tokens and paper money in Michigan since 1956. MSNS is a member club of the American Numismatic Association and the Central States Numismatic Society. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 264, Keego Harbor, MI 48320.
2. Information we collect
Contact form. Your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. Messages go to the volunteer who handles that topic, such as the Bourse Chair or the Webmaster.
Messages to clubs and event organizers. When you use a “Message” or “Send a message” button in our club directory or show calendar, your name, email address and message are forwarded to that club or organizer. Their email addresses are never shown on the site.
Bourse (dealer table) application. Your name, business name, contact details, website, specialties and table choices. These are used to assign tables, plan the convention and list participating dealers. Your business name may appear in our public dealer list.
Membership. You can apply or renew online, or on a paper application mailed in or handed in at our conventions. The online form asks for your name, mailing address, email address, phone number (optional), membership type and what you collect. For junior members it also asks for the member’s birth date and a parent or guardian’s name, email and phone. Applications go to our Recording Secretary, and we use them to keep membership records and to send The MichMatist, renewal notices and Society news.
Banquet tickets. The online ticket order form asks for your name, email, phone, mailing address, number of tickets, guest names for name tags and any seating request. Orders go to the MSNS President to prepare tickets and name tags.
Exhibits and awards. Exhibitor names, exhibit titles and award results may be published on this site and in The MichMatist.
Payments. We do not take payments on this website and never ask for card or bank details online.
3. Email updates
We send occasional emails about our conventions, Michigan coin shows and Society news. You receive them if you are a member or dealer who has given us an email address, or if you sign up on our website. When you sign up online, your email address, your first name (if you give it) and the interests you check are sent to Brevo, the email service we use. We email you once to confirm, and you are only added after you click the link in that email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you through our Contact page.
4. Cookies and website data
Like most websites, our web server keeps standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and troubleshooting. The site uses a small number of cookies it needs to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors; it only gives us totals such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types.
Our contact form and bourse application use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. Turnstile checks that a real person is filling out the form and may collect basic device and browser information to do so. It is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Some pages show content from other services: the map on our Convention page comes from Google Maps, and the metals prices on our home page come from TradingView. We also link to Google Calendar, Facebook, the American Numismatic Association and numismatic news sites. These services have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies when you view or use them.
5. Photos at our events
Volunteers may take photos at MSNS conventions and meetings for this website, The MichMatist and our Facebook page. We ask a parent or guardian before featuring a young collector. If you would like a photo of you or your child removed, let us know and we will take it down.
6. Young collectors
We welcome Young Numismatists, and junior memberships are available from age 5. This website is not meant to collect information from children under 13. Junior membership applications should be completed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal information online, contact us and we will delete it.
7. How we share and protect information
Your information is seen only by the MSNS officers and volunteers who need it, and by the service providers that run our website hosting and email. We share it with others only when you ask us to (for example, a message to a club), when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members and events. We keep records only as long as we need them for Society business, then delete them.
8. Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving emails. Contact us through our Contact page (choose “Website or club listing” or “Membership”) or write to P.O. Box 264, Keego Harbor, MI 48320.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Society and this website change. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
