Stephen Friedman

Immediate Past President

A collector since childhood and a dealer since age 18, Stephen has served on the MSNS Board for more than two decades. As President from 2019 to 2024 he guided the Society through the pandemic.

Andrew Kolbert

After 30 years managing analytical laboratories, Andrew runs The First Dollar, a coin and bullion business. He has written regularly for The MichMatist since 2022.

Don Reid

Director

A collector since the early 1970s, Don has been a dealer since 2008, the year he co-founded the Redford Coin Show, which he still runs.

Frank Passic

Director

A member since 1976 and a life member, Frank began collecting in 1961 at the Albion Coin Club. He specializes in Albion, Michigan numismatics and Lithuanian coins and banknotes, has written educational articles for more than 40 years and serves as MSNS Exhibits Chairman.

Jim VanderRoest

Director

A Kalamazoo attorney and a collector since grade school, Jim is a past President of the Kalamazoo Numismatic Club. He has a special interest in the Society's educational work.

Larry Jelsch

Director

Larry bought his first bust half dollars as a teenager at the MSNS show at the Hyatt Regency and has collected early type coins ever since. He is President of the Livingston County Coin Club and has set up as a dealer since 2014.

Mark Benvenuto

Director

Mark has collected coins, medals and paper money since the 1960s, a passion that grew while he served as an Army lieutenant in West Germany. He writes widely about the history behind numismatic items.

Mike Dennany

Director

Mike is President and youth coordinator of the Kalamazoo Numismatic Club and has served on both the MSNS and CSNS boards.

Tom Dombrowski

Director

A numismatist for more than 50 years, Tom has served on the Board for eight years, including two terms as Vice President, and is the Society's Chief Exhibit Judge.
